Norfolk Bowling Club
The Norfolk Bowling Club, is located in the Cathedral City of Norwich in the East Anglian county of Norfolk. We have two outdoor greens (one not currently in use) and seven indoor rinks. We are affiliated to Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd and both the Men's and Ladies Indoor and Outdoor County Associations and offer competitive bowls, to those who want it, at National, County and club level in both team and individual formats.
We welcome new members from 8 to 80 and beyond, whether an experienced player or new to our wonderful game, please use our website to gain more information on the history of our club, which celebrated its centenary in 2022, and what we can offer. Rink Availability - rinks are available at 6.30pm for competitions and catchup domestic league games on 18th, 22nd(*) & 23rd(*) December. (*) must be booked not later than 19/12
Please email contactus@norfolkbc.org.uk to secure a rink booking confirming match details. Club policy on rink priority will apply and rinks will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
30th November - Ladies A Team update - yesterday the Ladies A team played Gallow A in the County Triples league premier division and as was expected it was a close match in which the NBC ladies came out on top with a 64-54 win (7-1 points).
It was a competitive match played in a great atmosphere and respect between the teams. Well done to our ladies and commiserations to Gallow A who we are sure will be looking to reverse the result in the return game - report Jackie Devitt Ladies A Team Captain
30th November - Bowlr updates 1st Dec to 19th Dec - any requests for changes required in Bowlr for national, county or club competition bookings should be made to the club email address contactus@norfolkbc.org.uk.
Also any cancellations to domestic league games should be advised to the league steward or via an email sent to contactus@norfolkbc.org.uk.
Bookings for roll-ups can continue to be made in Bowlr online and there is no need to notify the club.

27th November - Vivienne - the Ladies B team started their challenge in the national Vivienne Trophy today against Acle Marsh Harriers with two rinks at home and two away. All the team put much effort into the game and with score 71 shots for both sides at the end of 18 ends, an extra end was played, with our girls pulling out all stops to secure the win by 2 shots.
The next round is Thursday 8th January against Gallow - report Rachel Stevenson Ladies B Team Captain
25th November - Closure Sunday 21st December - the club will be closed from midday Sunday 21st December to allow for site maintenance work to be completed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to members but it was felt this date & time would result in the least amount of disruption.
25th November - Entry door access code – a situation has been reported where a non-member was provided with the door entry access code.
Please DO NOT share the door code with anyone as all members will have been informed of the code in use. We are looking at options to amend the door code and will advise members accordingly.
24th November - Annual General Meeting - notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Norfolk Bowling Club will be held on Thursday 15th January 2026 at 7pm. Please click here for further information and please make every effort to attend as this is your opportunity to influence the future plans, direction and priorities of the club.
24th November - World Junior Indoor Championships - congratulations to Ellie Johnson who has been called in to represent England at the World Junior Indoor Championships in Belfast 1st to 4th December, we wish her the very best of luck.

23rd November - Men's Club Comps - please be advised that the club Singles, Pairs and Triples next round play by date has been extended from 17/12 to 22/12.
22nd November - U30 Double Rink - congratulations to our U30 Double Rink team who last night secured a 43-31 victory over Ipswich & District, The team now move onto the national quarter final against Bromley or Folkestone on 21st February at what will be neutral venue based on the distances between clubs.
21st November - Lion Kit Orders - the lion kit orders placed recently have now been received and are ready for collection. Please enquire at the bar at your earliest convenience.
21st November - County Friendlies - the nomination forms for the remaining 2025/26 Inter County Friendlies (men) and Presidents Invitation (mixed against clubs in Norfolk) are on the noticeboards. Anyone wishing to be considered please add your names to the lists.
15th November - Yetton Plate - result from today’s Yetton Plate game Norfolk BC 80 - Gallow 67. an excellent team effort from all the ladies. We managed to achieve small wins on all rinks which is fantastic against a good opposition.
Also thanks to all the supporters from both clubs which made it a good atmosphere to watch and play in. Our next match will be on Saturday 6th December against Beccles.
14th November - Ladies Update - today our ladies A & B teams commenced their challenge for the National Mason Trophy against Gallow. for the A team after a difficult start home and away we finally came through as 42-21 winners. Unfortunately and despite a valiant effort the B team went down 38-34.
Thanks to all who travelled on a wet day, next match for the A team is on Friday 5th December against either Acle B or County Arts B.
11th November - Domestic League Fixtures - most members will be aware, or have been directly affected, with league game cancellations or rink moves due primarily to the demand for national competition rinks. This is in line with club policy on rink priorities and your support and understanding is appreciated by the club and I hope by those in competitions.
Until such time that any cancelled game has been rearranged the match has been moved to the week commencing 20th April to work within the constraints of Bowlr. This is not the confirmed new date for a game, as this would fall after the 13th April deadline for matches to be played, but simply a holding place for all matches yet to be rearranged.
These games can be viewed in Bowlr and whilst the club will look to help in rescheduling these it would be appreciated if the team captains involved would make arrangements between themselves to agree a new date and advise the league steward or league secretary so that Bowlr may be updated.

General Reminders
National & County Competition Bookings via Bowlr - please click here for important information in relation to the booking of rinks for national and county competitions via Bowlr.
Rink Bookings - members are reminded that rinks must be booked for all games, even for a roll-up on an empty rink. Please ensure that rinks are booked via the Bowlr system in advance of your game or at the very least on arrival at the club via the monitor by the office.
Bowlr Domestic Leagues Fixtures - some domestic league games will be moved, in line with club policy, to a different rink to accommodate national/county bookings. Please check Bowlr or the TV screen in the hallway on arrival for a game to check the rink allocated for a match.
Website / Facebook Updates - whilst the editors of the website and our Facebook page endeavour to keep up with results and news, please let Chris Taylor or Helen Jamieson know of any news you feel should be shared. This is especially important as we reach the final stages of club and individual national/county competitions.
