Norfolk Bowling Club
The Norfolk Bowling Club, is located in the Cathedral City of Norwich in the East Anglian county of Norfolk. We have two outdoor greens (one not currently in use) and seven indoor rinks. We are affiliated to Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd and both the Men's and Ladies Indoor and Outdoor County Associations and offer competitive bowls, to those who want it, at National, County and club level in both team and individual formats.
We welcome new members from 8 to 80 and beyond, whether an experienced player or new to our wonderful game, please use our website to gain more information on the history of our club, which celebrated its centenary in 2022, and what we can offer. 16th October - Club Competitions - the draws for the Handicap Singles are now available on Bowlr and will be placed on the competitions notice board shortly. Handicaps allocated are shown in brackets and will be the starting score for each match with the winner first to 21 shots.
Rink Bookings - members are reminded that rinks must be booked for all games, even for a roll-up on an empty rink. Please ensure that rinks are booked via the Bowlr system in advance of your game or at the very least on arrival at the club via the monitor by the office.
13th October - Open Sets Points scoring - to avoid any confusion over the way in which the league tables show results for our sets leagues, please click here for an extract from the league rules which summarises how points are allocated.
12th October - Club Competitions - the draws for the club competitions are now available on Bowlr, with the exception of the Handicap Singles which will be released at the end of the week when handicaps have been agreed by the indoor committee.
The first named in all competitions is the challenger and is responsible to make all match arrangements by the stated play by date, as outlined in the club competition rules.
IMPORTANT: The Men's competitions which lead to the County Playoffs to be held at the end of the season need to reach the completion of the semi-finals by mid-January. Entrants are requested to ensure that ALL matches are arranged, booked in Bowlr and completed by the published play by dates.
12th October - Club Matchplay Singles - the entry form for the club matchplay singles is now on the competition noticeboard. This competition is open to all members who have not entered either the main ladies or men’s singles championship and/or who are not selected to represent the club in the first round of the Yetton Trophy or Denny Cup. Closing date 9th November,
12th October - Ladies County League - the ladies A team played their second league match of the season on Saturday against Acle A at Acle. It was a very close match and despite a great effort from all concerned we lost 3-5 (55-65 on shots). Well done to the ladies against a good opposition. We will regather and come back stronger - report Jackie Devitt A Team Captain.
Next A team match is the Yetton Trophy on 1st November against County Arts. Start time 10.00am with be two rinks and home and two away.
Our Ladies B team entertained Gallow B at home, on Saturday, for our first game of the season. We welcomed 3 new members to the team, Connie Dowe, Rebecca Hill and Jan Robinson. We came away with our first win of the season 6 - 2 (62 -55). Well done team - report Rachel Stevenson B Team Captain.
Next B team match is away in the county league to Acle C on 25th October start time 12.00 noon.

12th October - Rink Space 17/10 - rinks are available for general roll-up use Friday evening. Bookings can be made via Bowlr in the normal manner.
28th September - Club Social 25/10 - our next club social will be held on Saturday 25th October, tickets now on sale at the bar, please click here for details
26th September - Bowlr Domestic Leagues Fixtures - as the season gets into full swing matches are starting to be booked for national competitions this may mean that some domestic league games are moved, in line with club policy, to a different rink. Please check Bowlr or the TV screen in the hallway on arrival for a game to check the rink allocated for a match.
Match changes are highlighted in orange on Bowlr in the individual leagues. Where a game needs to be rescheduled to a new date to accommodate a competition game both teams will be advised in advance.
19th September - Outdoor Section AGM 14/10 - Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Norfolk Bowling Club Outdoor Section will be held on Tuesday 14th October 7pm in the Indoor Club, please click here for additional information
