Norfolk Bowling Club
The Norfolk Bowling Club, is located in the Cathedral City of Norwich in the East Anglian county of Norfolk. We have two outdoor greens (one not currently in use) and seven indoor rinks. We are affiliated to Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd and both the Men's and Ladies Indoor and Outdoor County Associations and offer competitive bowls, to those who want it, at National, County and club level in both team and individual formats.
We welcome new members from 8 to 80 and beyond, whether an experienced player or new to our wonderful game, please use our website to gain more information on the history of our club, which celebrated its centenary in 2022, and what we can offer. 18th January - Top Club - congratulations to our mixed team who today overcame Spalding in the Top Club with a 8-8 (89-78) victory.
They now progress to the semi final to be played on Saturday 28th March at Nottingham, against Solihull, with winner progressing to the final to be played Sunday 29th.
18th January - Ladies Update - congratulations to both our Ladies County League teams on wins over the weekend. The A team secured 8-0 (71-33) win over Lowestoft Rail, and the B team held onto a last bowl 6-2 (56-55) win away to Acle B., click here for league tables

11th January - Egham Trophy - congratulations to our mixed team who today overcame Ipswich & District in the regional final of the Egham Trophy with a 76-73 victory.
They now progress to the quarter final to be played on 25th January against Solihull at a neutral venue and further details will be shared once confirmed.
REMINDER >>>>> Club AGM - the Club AGM will be held on Thursday 15th January in the indoor clubhouse commencing at 7pm, and copies of the agenda and various reports are now available in the lounge.
This is a very important AGM as we have significant decisions to make about the future of the club, management team positions which will become vacant in 2026, and the way forward. We ask for as many members as possible to come along to this meeting.
9th January - Vivienne Trophy - yesterday the Ladies County B Team challenge in the Vivienne Trophy came to an end. After a valiant effort by all players Gallows came out on top 74 to 64 shots.
We now look forward to our first County League game of 2026 against Acle on Saturday 17th January. Report - Rachel Stevenson B Team Captain.
3rd January - Yetton Plate - congratulations to our ladies team who today overcame Falcon (Chelmsford) in the regional final of the Yetton Plate with a 95-41 victory.
They now progress to the quarter final to be played on 14th February against Scunthorpe. This will be played at a neutral venue and further details will be shared once confirmed.
2nd January - Club Social - the next club social , Bingo & Race Night, will be held Saturday 31st January, please click here for more details
1st January - Men's Club Comps - the semi finals of the club Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours must be played by 11th January with the winners progressing to the county playoffs. If games are not completed then the county playoff entry is forfeited.
20th December - County Finals - the finals of the County Championships for the club champions from 2024/25 as part of the transitional arrangements to end of season playoffs were completed during the past few days. The club were represented in all four finals, securing the pairs and triples titles whilst just missing out on the singles and an agonising single shot loss in the fours.

This is a transition year for the county and our club finalists will compete in the county playoffs between February and April to determine the 2025/26 County Champions.
20th December - Ladies A Team update - The ladies A team played their last county league match of the year today at Roundwood.
This has proved to be a bit of a bogey green in recent years and despite a valiant effort from all victory continues to elude us with a 2.5-5.5 (66-74) loss.
My thanks to all who played today especially as we had a fair amount of reshuffling to do due to illness etc. Well played to Pat and Shez who stepped in late and did a stellar job.
Our first games of 2026 are on Friday 2nd against Gallow A in the Mason and Sat 3rd in Yetton Plate against Falcon with two rinks home and away in both with 10am and 10.30am starts respectively.

20th December - National Champion of Champions - congratulations to Bex Willgress on winning the area final of the Champion of Champions singles, with a 21-8 win over Anna Noble (Lakenheath), played yesterday evening at Wymondham Dell.
Bex now progresses the national finals, to be played at Dolphin IBC 30th & 31st January.
25th November - Entry door access code – a situation has been reported where a non-member was provided with the door entry access code.
Please DO NOT share the door code with anyone as all members will have been informed of the code in use. We are looking at options to amend the door code and will advise members accordingly.
General Reminders
National & County Competition Bookings via Bowlr - please click here for important information in relation to the booking of rinks for national and county competitions via Bowlr.
Rink Bookings - members are reminded that rinks must be booked for all games, even for a roll-up on an empty rink. Please ensure that rinks are booked via the Bowlr system in advance of your game or at the very least on arrival at the club via the monitor by the office.
Bowlr Domestic Leagues Fixtures - some domestic league games will be moved, in line with club policy, to a different rink to accommodate national/county bookings. Please check Bowlr or the TV screen in the hallway on arrival for a game to check the rink allocated for a match.
Website / Facebook Updates - whilst the editors of the website and our Facebook page endeavour to keep up with results and news, please let Chris Taylor or Helen Jamieson know of any news you feel should be shared. This is especially important as we reach the final stages of club and individual national/county competitions.
